Christopher Phillips is a composer from Liverpool UK.

Also a drummer, Chris played with Antimatter, Minor Moguls and the Walter Becker produced China Crisis.

After a career in film and television art departments, he graduated from a Masters in Professional Media Composition at Thinkspace/ Chichester University with a focus on taking film music in creative directions, recently working on When The Snow Falls.

'It's all about making the viewer feel a certain way; music is the universal language to help convey that.'

Tracking session from the short film When The Snow Falls. Director Tom and Producer Lavinia wanted to use Juice Newton’s Angel Of The Morning, so I wrote this but waltz’d it up. Went for a period 1981 feel, which was a lot of fun.

2.5 minutes. A summer journey, with more playing than journey, called Pushing On.
Things learned from this video:
1. Austria is breathtaking.
2. Wobbly cameras aren’t the ferocity of my Gretsch kick; it’s the wobbly exercise bike that the camera’s attached to.
3. SG’s are cool.
4. I still love drums even if it is 30ºc in the studio.

A nearby star radiated light from it's nuclear fusion reactions, which moved outwards at the fastest possible speed for 8 minutes. It then travelled through a planet's dusty atmosphere at a shallow angle. After this it went through the leaves of a tree that had taken decades to reach it's height, which were being pushed around by the movement of gases from high pressure areas, into lower ones all because of that same star's radiated energy. This flickering light went through wooden blinds to hit a wall painted with white emulsion, in a house we decided to build 12 years ago. So I done a tune. #pianomusic #wondersofnature #astronomy
